THE SILVERED SERPENTS (The Gilded Wolves #2)
by Roshani Chokshi
Release Date: September 22, 2020; Wednesday Books

From Goodreads:
They are each other’s fiercest love, greatest danger, and only hope.

Séverin and his team members might have successfully thwarted the Fallen House, but victory came at a terrible cost ― one that still haunts all of them. Desperate to make amends, Séverin pursues a dangerous lead to find a long lost artifact rumoured to grant its possessor the power of God.

Their hunt lures them far from Paris, and into icy heart of Russia where crystalline ice animals stalk forgotten mansions, broken goddesses carry deadly secrets, and a string of unsolved murders makes the crew question whether an ancient myth is a myth after all.

As hidden secrets come to the light and the ghosts of the past catch up to them, the crew will discover new dimensions of themselves. But what they find out may lead them down paths they never imagined.

A tale of love and betrayal as the crew risks their lives for one last job.

"Love did not always wear the face one wished it would. Sometimes it looked downright monstrous."

This beautiful, cruel, enchanting book is making me cry. It's breaking my heart and I'm happy and sad and heartbroken and in utter disbelief. How can something so magical and broken and beautiful and terrifying all at once exist? The Silvered Serpents is a masterful creation and I just want this book in my hands so I can read it again.

The Silvered Serpents is a powerful and satisfying sequel that is so, so much more amazing than its predecessor. Which is saying a lot considering the The Gilded Wolves is already a whole lot of amazing. I loved the first book but I have an unhealthy obsession and love for this one. I don't know how Roshani Chokshi does it but her writing is pure magic and brilliance and I LOVE IT.

If I could wrap all my babies Laila, Severin, Tristan, Enrique, Zofia and Hypnos is one big bubble of safety and warm hugs, I would. They all went through so much and I AM FREAKIN' HEARTBROKEN. What the heck am I supposed to do now?!?

Read this in one sitting and my only regret is that I DON'T HAVE BOOK THREE IN MY HANDS. Can we all just skip 2020 and get on to 2021?!

I received an e-arc via Netgalley to read and review.
