Top (Not Quite) Ten Tuesday #TTT

Hi guys! This is my first time participating in Top Ten Tuesday and I am so excited!

As I'm sure you already know, Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. And this week's theme is New-to-Me Authors I Read In 2018. I've read quite a few new-to-me authors last year. Some of them are debut authors and some are authors I discovered thru Goodreads and/or Amazon. In no particular order...

Discovering Charlotte McConaghy and reading her book, Avery (The Cronicles of Kaya #1), was definitely one of the best decisions I made in 2018. (And let's face it I've made very few of those.)

Avery was everything I love in a YA romantic fantasy. It has such high ratings on Goodreads so I don't know why it wasn't on my radar sooner. I've read the book twice now and I LOVED it both times. It's part of a trilogy and the only reason I haven't read the other two books yet is because I got spoiled with the ending. I won't say much but it's nothing if not heartbreaking. And I wasn't (still isn't) ready to get my heart broken.

Julie Cross has written countless YA/NA books, none of which I read except for the Eleanor Ames Duology. I was absolutely in love with this swoony and exciting YA contemporary suspense/mystery. I've read the first book, Chasing Truth, twice now and am planning on reading it again but this time back to back with the sequel, Hiding Lies.

I have a certain unwavering obsession for Deborah Wilde's Nava Katz series. This is urban fantasy at its finest. It has a (un)likable and kickass heroine, a hot and brooding alpha male and a sexy romance that will knock your socks off. Oh and magic. Lot and lots of magic. All those sleepless nights just so I can binge-read the first five books are so worth it!

Catch up on the series now before the sixth and final book releases on March 5th!

One of the best debut I read in 2018 is To Kill a Kingdom. This retelling of Little Mermaid is savage, thrilling and addictive with a beautiful, slow burn romance. Elias and Lira have a special place in my heart and I will not be letting go of these two anytime soon.

Looking forward to reading more books from the author!

Furyborn (Empirium #1) is one of my most memorable reads of 2018. So much hype surrounded this brutal, relentless, romantic and gloriously terrifying book and I'm so happy to say it did not let me down. I had the opportunity to read an e-arc and it was such an amazing experience.

I don't know about you, but I'm willing to sacrifice my firstborn to get my hands on the most anticipated sequel, Kingsbane (available for pre-order now).

The Last Namsara (Iskari #1) is definitely one of my top 2018 favorite reads. I deeply regret that I did not read the book as soon as it was released. I LOVED every sad, swoony, exciting, maddening and dangerous bit of this book. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Dragons you guys. DRAGONS.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to read the sequel, The Caged Queen. I've heard so many great things about it though and hopefully, I'll be able to read it this year. *fingers crossed*

The third and final book to the trilogy is The Sky Weaver, pre-order you copy here!

A Pack of Blood and Lies, the first installment in The Boulder Wolves trilogy, is my very first Olivia Wildenstein book. It's slated for release on April 18th of this year. I don't know how I got so lucky to have been given an e-arc but I'm so thankful because this book is just amazing!

Read the book in one sitting and I honestly can't wait to read it again! Check out my full review here. Available for pre-order here!

Another 2019 release I've had the opportunity to read in advance is Descendant of the Crane. Dubbed as a "Chinese Game of Thrones" by Publisher's Weekly, this book is definitely not to be missed!

It does not only boast a gorgeous cover but an intoxicating writing as well. It's an addictive blend of intrigue, excitement, mystery and heartbreaking, suspenseful twists. I cannot wait for you all to read this!
