When Cammie "The Chameleon" Morgan visits her roommate Macey in Boston, she thinks she's in for an exciting end to her summer break. After all, she's there to watch Macey's father accept the nomination for vice president of the United States. But when you go to the world's best school (for spies), "exciting" and "deadly" are never far apart. Cammie and Macey soon find themselves trapped in a kidnappers' plot, with only their espionage skills to save them.
As her junior year begins, Cammie can't shake the memory of what happened in Boston, and even the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women doesn't feel like the safe haven it once did. Shocking secrets and old flames seem to lurk around every one of the mansion's corners as Cammie and her friends struggle to answer the questions, Who is after Macey? And how can the Gallagher Girls keep her safe?
Soon Cammie is joining Bex and Liz as Macey's private security team on the campaign trail. The girls must use their spy training at every turn as the stakes are raised, and Cammie gets closer and closer to the shocking truth.

This series just keeps getting better and better.
Don't Judge a Girl by her Cover presents a more exciting and twisty plot than the first two books. It is also what I'd like to call "kind of Macey's book". Macey is actually one of the characters that we didn't really get to know. I love that in this book we see a lot more side to her and get a feel of the life she has outside of the walls of the Gallagher Academy. Macey grew in me in this book. She's a total kickass and her boy advice would never let one down. She's fun, a smartass (which, if you ask me, is a common trait for spies) and just not your average rich, bratty girl. We'll definitely get to know more about her and I enjoy reading her "boy trouble" side. I think that she's definitely highlighted in this book and I just added her to my list of favorite characters of the series.
But of course, that is not all. There are so many great things about the book that made it all the more exciting and enjoyable to read. To name a few - aunt Abby is just the coolest spy (aside from Joe Solomon that is)...
"She's bloody awesome!"
Then, without turning around, Abby called, "I bloody know."
Zach is just as enigmatic and adorable...
“There’s a boy I my life,” I told him. “He’s a very bad influence.”
Then Zach nodded. “Bad boys have a way of doing that. But they’re worth it.”
and there's definitely more trouble and mystery for the spies-in-training Cam, Liz, Bex and Macey. Can I just say I never, ever get tired of reading their Covert Operations Report?
Romance, action, adventure, mystery and fun all packed into one - another book addition on the series no one should miss!
