ARC Review: AGAINST DARK TIDES (Beneath Black Sails #2) by Clare Sager

AGAINST DARK TIDES (Beneath Black Sails #2)
Date Published: September 23, 2020

From Goodreads:
Enemies. Lovers. Enemies once more. Now they must work together to survive.

Notorious pirate Lady Vice has lost everything: ship, crew, and friends. Even her body has betrayed her, leaving her magic weak. To make matters worse, she’s stuck at sea with the man who stabbed her in the back.

Knigh Blackwood is no longer a captain, no longer a pirate-hunter, no longer … anything. All he has left is the woman he betrayed, and she’d rather cut out his tongue with his own dagger than forgive him.

There’s just one thing that might make up for what they’ve lost: Drake’s treasure. But they’re not the only ones searching for clues and the elusive X that marks the spot. Between them and the treasure stand a scheming duke, a former lover, and a sea monster thought the stuff of legends – not to mention Vice and Knigh’s complicated feelings for each other.

If you love the scheming of Black Sails, the high seas adventure of Pirates of the Caribbean, and the romance of Holly Black, you won’t want to miss this heart-pounding new series.

Buy AGAINST DARK TIDES now and escape to a magical world where enemies become allies and even the closest lovers can become the worst foes.

This series keeps getting better and better! I had no idea it's possible but I LOVE Vee, Knigh and crew even more now!

Against Dark Tides brought more action, more romance, higher stakes and more Barnacle to love, LOL. Seriously, this cat barely had any role but she's definitely one of my favorites! And the way Knigh is with her?! My heart is melting.

The end of BSS didn't exactly leave me feeling hopeful about Knigh and Vee's HEA. But let's just say, maybe I shouldn't have worried too much. Against Dark Tides brought a lot of excitement, action, realization and reconciliation. Knigh is still struggling with his past mistakes and his control as a berserker but he's slowly learning to forgive himself. Vee will learn more about her powers and what it means to truly wield that power. And both will have to learn to forgive each other and themselves. Which btw, was a whole mess because they're both the most stubborn lot!

There was so much that happened in this book that I didn't expect! I read it in one sitting and I loved every page! Sager's writing is just as addictive and exciting. I also now have a newfound love and appreciation for Perry. She's such a tough mother hen and I love that!

I don't know what Clare Sager has in store for us next but I'm SO excited to find out!

Now who do I have to bribe to get my hands on book three?!

I received a copy of the book to read and review.
