From Goodreads:
One year. Nine events. Nine chances to . . . fall in love?
Weddings. Funerals. Barbecues. New Year's Eve parties. Name the occasion, and Sophie Evans will be there. Well, she has to be there. Sophie works for the local florist, so she can be found at every big event in her small hometown, arranging bouquets and managing family dramas.
Enter Andrew Hart. The son of the fancy new chef in town, Andrew is suddenly required to attend all the same events as Sophie. Entitled, arrogant, preppy Andrew. Sophie just wants to get her job done and finish up her sketches so she can apply to design school. But every time she turns around, there is Andrew, getting in her way and making her life more complicated. Until one day she wonders if maybe complicated isn't so bad after all . . .
Told over the course of one year and following Sophie from event to event, this delightful novel from master of romantic comedy Kasie West shows how love can blossom in unexpected places.
Rating: 4 of 5 stars
'ROSE. Hands down the most recognizable and popular flower. Maybe it’s its intoxicating scent or velvety texture that inspires hundreds of poets to compare it to love and beauty, but whatever the case, it’s overrated, just like its comparisons. People seem to forget about the thorns.'
Just... WOW.
Kasie West never fails to amaze me. This book was everything I needed and I. Want. More.
“When I was a kid, I was scared of thunder,” I said.
“I thought you still were,” Andrew said dryly.
“No, now I’m scared of rich boys who take over local businesses.”
“Understandably.”
Andrew and Sophie were too damn adorable together. I could not get enough of their banter. Even when they were throwing insults at each other, their chemistry was so on point. That scene with the make-up? HOLY MOTHER OF ALL FLOWERS. I don't know what to tell you. I was swooning. Swoon was EVERYWHERE. This has to be my top favorite West book now. And I just want to cry because it's done.
Sophie and Micah's friendship was everything. Love, love, love Micah! Kyle was meh. I honestly don't see anything in him. Lance, I think, has a lot of potential to be a lovable character. He just wasn't in the book enough to actually make me love him. But fingers crossed for a spin off! Gunnar was adorable. He actually reminds me of Nikolaj from B99.
Funny, sweet, romantic and heartfelt, Maybe This Time is an absolute must-read! I would definitely read this again and again!
“You just find the part that stands out the most or makes the most interesting shapes or tells the best story.”
Through the square made by my fingers, I could see the pedals of the boat. One was barely attached, dangling as if about to fall, the other in perfect working order.
“And if you don’t find it with your first shot, you have all the chances you want.”

“What are the odds?” I said, more to myself than anything.
“Of what?” Andrew asked.
“Of two people who can be compatible for the rest of their lives actually finding each other.”
“Not sure I know the exact numbers on that,” he said.
“The odds are low. Very low,” I said.
“A cynic about love,” Andrew said dryly. “How original.”
