by Amy Engel
Release Date: 11/03/15
Entangled Teen

Summary from Goodreads:
Ivy Westfall is beyond the fence and she is alone. Abandoned by her family and separated from Bishop Lattimer, Ivy must find a way to survive on her own in a land filled with countless dangers, both human and natural. She has traded a more civilized type of cruelty--forced marriages and murder plots--for the bare-knuckled brutality required to survive outside Westfall's borders.

But there is hope beyond the fence, as well. And when Bishop reappears in Ivy's life, she must decide if returning to Westfall to take a final stand for what she believes is right is worth losing everything she's fought for. Add it on Goodreads.

BOOK REVIEW:
Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Can I have a third book for this series as an early Christmas present? Because although The Revolution of Ivy was a perfect conclusion for Ivy and Bishop's story, I'm not ready to let go of these two just yet.

The Revolution of Ivy is everything I could ask for in a sequel. It's just as thrilling, romantic, exciting and fast-paced as the first book. Only now I'm a little bit more in love with Bishop and a lot more in awe of Ivy. I had a lot of "what the heck?!" moments and I just flew through the whole book in one sitting.

I love Amy Engel's writing. It's direct, simple and fast-paced while still being wholly enthralling from start to finish. (Kinda reminds me a lot Ally Carter's writing too.) I love the twists and surprises thrown my way. Caleb and Ash are great character additions. They brought so much more flavor to the story. How I wish we already met them in book one. If Amy ever decides to write a book (books?) about them, I'd be the first one to grab it off the shelf. As for Mark Laird... yeah I'm not a big fan of his and I would have preferred he never showed up again.

I am in love with this duology. Especially so with Ivy Westfall and Bishop Lattimer. I didn't think Ivy could get more selfless and badass but she did. And I didn't think it's possible to love Bishop more than I already do but it is.
I love seeing Ivy go from the girl who was so used to doing what other people told her to do to being the kind of kickass heroine who's strong, selfless and independent. Honestly I was shocked at some of the things she did on this book. Those last few chapters? What she did? It surprised me a lot. It showed just how far her character has grown though. And I love her for being the kind of person who loves so wholly but knows when to let go and make a choice - no matter how hard and seemingly impossible the choice might be.
And Bishop? Oh that guy. I may have said this already for a hundred times for a hundred different fictional boyfriends but I have to say it again. I AM IN LOVE. Like Ivy, Bishop surprised me in this book. It showed a fiercer, bolder and stronger version of him while still being the same gentle, loving and caring Bishop we met in book one. One of the things I like most about him is that he's never pushy. He may disagree with Ivy in a lot of things but he never once dictated her actions. He lets Ivy be her own person but supports her every way he can. I just... I love him for being him.

The Revolution of Ivy is made of AMAZINGness (I totally made that up).
I hate that it has to end but I couldn't ask for a more fitting ending. This is a page-turner and I highly recommend it!

I received an e-arc to read and review.

Entangled Teen

Summary from Goodreads:
After a brutal nuclear war, the United States was left decimated. A small group of survivors eventually banded together, but only after more conflict over which family would govern the new nation. The Westfalls lost. Fifty years later, peace and control are maintained by marrying the daughters of the losing side to the sons of the winning group in a yearly ritual.

This year, it is my turn. My name is Ivy Westfall, and my mission is simple: to kill the president’s son—my soon-to-be husband—and restore the Westfall family to power.

But Bishop Lattimer is either a very skilled actor or he’s not the cruel, heartless boy my family warned me to expect. He might even be the one person in this world who truly understands me. But there is no escape from my fate. I am the only one who can restore the Westfall legacy.

Because Bishop must die. And I must be the one to kill him… Add it on Goodreads.
